Now in Jacksonville!
January 25, 2016
Before I introduce myself, I would like to take a moment to thank Dr. Walt Croom for his generous and kind letters of recommendation. Walt and I have been good friends for over 18 years and I count him as one of my dearest mentors in the Ministry.
My Name is Dave Mason. I am the new General Director of Military Evangelism. I will be the Field Director of the Jacksonville Center in addition to my duties as General Director. I have been preaching for over 18 years, and a pastor for the last 14. I planted a church in 2001 and merged it with one of our supporting churches in 2004, creating First Baptist Church of Harford County, which I lead for the last 12 years.
I come to Military Evangelism after serving on the Board of Directors since 2007. For the last 4 years I have served as Secretary of the Board. This has allowed be to observe the inner workings of this ministry and I am sure God allowed all of this to prepare me for this new position.
My wife Patty and I look forward to visiting and getting to know you very soon. I will need a few months on the field here in Jacksonville to get to know the day-to-day operations thoroughly, and to put in place the programs and activities the Lord places in our hearts to reach the Marines at Jacksonville. Once I am sure the Ministry can run without my presence on Sunday’s or Wednesdays, I will be scheduling meetings to introduce myself and give an update on the ministry at Jacksonville.
I look forward to continuing our partnership to provide our Military men and women with a Gospel Witness, a place to call home, and a support system to bring them into fellowship with a local church.
‘Till Jesus Returns,
Rev. Dave Mason
General Director
Military Evangelism
